Couple years ago went to the float viewing. Liked this the most. Time enough to take pictures. To look at the real detail. Time enough to see the works up front. Can't tell you the TV broadcasting is nice, but being upfront and personal is an experience one must enjoy firsthand. Not a big parade person, but I DVR it today. That's a first.
Halftime, Ducks 18 Noles 13. Could have been 18 16 but there was missed field goal in the last 3 seconds. Hit Goal posts to end the half. Funny there was an interception by this year's Heisman trophy winner. He rarely throws these. Third one this year. Then there was a catch-able pass dropped by Wide that never drops pass by last year's Heisman winner. Then one of the best kicker in college football plunks the upright.
Had some good experiences here in Pasadena. Sold some mylar balloons with my Dad. Slept on Colorado with Michelle and her nephew on the sidewalk. Thrown whip cream plates at inattentive party goers.Brought college buddies and slept in the car next to the Robinson statues. Few years back I worked on the floats cutting and gluing flowers on the Indian float. Last weekend I drove past the Rose Parade headquarters.
Didn't understand some of the significance at the time of such wonderful moments. Only after a time of not being there. Only after a time of just being away. Only after a time where going just seems such a task. Now I long to go. Not so much to see the floats, but to re-live some of those pure memories. Not too many of my family and friends want to camp it anymore. Too old, too broke, or too serious to consider going. Just not the same going by oneself. Though I am okay with this. Its not as exciting and fulfilling going solo. So I will just sit and reminisce and watch Ducks and Noles battle.
