Early morning buzz. High school kids. Tents overhead. Couple of hours before the walk. Only a 1k and 5k. Not sure which I will do. 5K should take 45 to 60minutes. 1k maybe 10 minutes. Registered last night. Not much time. No pledge made. Did I come here just for the T-Shirt? Did I come here for Rochelle? Did I do it just to have something to do this weekend? People are standing around waiting for stuff to do. People are congregating in circles just being in the mix. Since this is all spur of the moment, I feel no real attachment except that I thought it would be fun. Looks like shirts are being given out now. Think its time to get my shirt. Well, got to run before they run out.
Didn’t get a shirt. Did not raise a $100 bucks. Sorry, it was all spur of the moment. Oh well. It is what it is. Just do the walk for the simple fact that it is a walk. I have my volunteer sticker. Not sure if I will volunteer. Answer will be revealed.
More and more people are coming to the forefront. Sound check and music stage. Announcements are being made. Announcer’s microphone is not working. “Testing one, two”“How Are You?” It is Honor to have you here. Maintenance Issues. Moneys and donations are to the side. Coffee, donuts, are at the north end.”—Announcer says. Not hungry. Not invested. No feelings either way.
This anticipation is lukewarm for me. Not much. Just don’t feel like standing around and watch other people stand around. Two hours early may be a mistake. It is what it is. Parked to my right is the Gas Company truck. Nice blue shirted people. Guess, I should describe the place. Behind me is the Super King Buffet. It won’t open for a few hours. An Oriental buffet its okay. Not Vegas quality buffets, but nice compared to the AV. To my left is the Levi store, a shoe store, Middle eastern mall-type restaurants, tae kwon do studio and host of other random outlet stores. The walk’s starting point is at the Lancaster Marketplace. AV’s version of the outlet mall.
This observation view is nice, but writing this. . .It’s missing something. Not sure if should be here. Doubt is here. Maybe it is little sleep talking. Maybe it is a warm-up for next weeks Cancer walk. Finding it hard to get motivated. Maybe its my chakras are plugged. Maybe. . .
I will post this blog. Sorry, no life affirming message. No great observation. No nothing. Kids are wearing cool Orange and yellow Dr. Seuss hats. Maybe, I will get one of the gas company’s yellow hula hoops. Get some cotton candy. Grab some hot drink, coffee not my thing. Maybe I will look at the sign in board. Maybe I will look at the tent giveaways.
Oh oh the Lancaster Elks lodge. Don’t know I want to miss this. Maybe I will go to the gas company and learn how turn of the gas. Okay, answers out here. Maybe I will apply Solvitur Ambulandos, It is solved by walking. Okay, guess it’s this time. Don’t know where this road will take me, but it’s time. It’s time to jump. Deep breath.
