Coco-licious

Coco is lying next to me. She is nested and taking a snooze. I think she is bored. Cabin fever maybe. Went for a stroll in Barrell Springs Road yesterday. I can feel my quads right. Up and down hills. Taking picture of Lake Palmdale. The huge fan/ turbine on Avenue S and North Sierra Highway. Took a picture of the curve and the light. Saw some trucks driving on some unpaved roads. Watched families with their pets take a walk on the trail. Found a geocache. It was hidden in some Juniper tree. The canister was a plastic rat with the log on the inside. First Cache of the year.

After the walk, took Coco home and preceded to fuel up before heading to the gym. Since it would be the first workout of the year, I knew I would be pushing it. 1000+ cruncher. Squats, lunges, and pushups between sets. Afterwards lifted. Chest. Pec Dec Flyes, Hammer Strength Bench Press, and Bench Presses. was pushing it hard. Afraid I wouldn't be able to push the Bar off me after reaching muscle failure. Thank goodness for that shot of adrenaline brought on by the embarrassment of getting stuck.

Still, it was a fair day. Walked, lifted and slept some. Quads are aching. Chest still sore. Abs--I can feel them. Its been a journey. For awhile I actively avoided taking classes because I knew once I was in, I would be for awhile. That's been the case. I often take two sometimes three classes a day. Now, I just started lifting again. Always core. Over 200 reps per set. Since getting Coco I have altered my schedule for walks in the park. Geocache hunt here and there. Just some sleep time for Shih Tzu.

I feel bad when I leave. She's so happy when I come home. Standing on her hind legs. she reminds me of a meerkat on post. She arches her back waiting for that scratch behind the ear. If she is super excited she sings to me. Howling here and there. Its just freaking adorable.

Anyways, life happens when we make all these plans. Sometimes good. Sometimes its better than we ever imagined. Its been a long time since I had a dog and its wonderful to have one that just fits. Not too big. Not too small. Just right. She kicks when sleeps and yips and snorts when she is dreaming. She is twitching now and having her facial tics. I can see her eyes rolling as if on a hunt. REM sleep seems to have found her.

Day 2 of 2016 and its been good so far. Hopefully it will better tomorrow. My eyes are heavy and I think its time for me to catch some ZZZZZs too.
